Summary of answer

Submission to the commands of Allah is the ultimate criterion for entering Paradise. According to the Quran, those who will go to Jannah are:

The believers who perform righteous deeds, remain steadfast in faith, and sincerely repent.
Men and women who uphold righteousness.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.

We have been told by the Creator of Heaven of the qualities of those who will go to Jannah . Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

{...and he that works a righteous deed – Whether man or woman – And is a believer – Such will enter the garden (of bliss): therein will they have abundance without measure." [Ghafir 40:40]
{Verily those who say, "Our Lord is Allah", and remain firm (on that path), - On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Such shall be companions of the garden, dwelling therein (for aye): a recompense for their (good) deeds.} [Al-Ahqaf 46: 13-14]
{Except those who repent and believe, and work righteousness: for those will enter the garden and will not be wronged in the least.} [Maryam 19:60]

All those who submit to Allah, do what He asked and avoid what He prohibited will go to Heaven.
